Cair Plus Fitness Center's Senior Fitness Program Ages 50 and Older

Strength training helps offset the loss in muscle mass and strength typically associated with normal aging. Regular exercise for the senior population improves bone health, reduces risk of osteoporosis, improves balance, reduces the risk of falling and associated injuries and fractures, and increases flexibility and range of motion.

Traditionally, exercise for seniors has been relegated to rehabilitation services that occur after an event such as cardiac rehabilitation or orthopedic surgery. Many physicians encourage individuals to initiate physical activity programs but their time is limited for explanation and supervision of the program.

The Cair Plus Fitness Center's Senior Fitness Program offers exercise programs that are individually developed based on the needs, limitations, the goals of the participants and in accordance with the medical director’s recommendations. The staff is knowledgeable in handling orthopedic, neuromuscular, cardiovascular or chronic disease conditions and can adjust the participant’s exercise program according to emerging needs and increased or decreased ability.
